About the Job
The Project Engineer handles the planning, technical design, and full-lifecycle execution of midstream and downstream natural gas projects. This role manages capital infrastructure developments like pipelines, regulating facilities, and measurement stations. They ensure that all engineering initiatives are completed safely, on schedule, and in complete alignment with strict federal and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engineering Design: Create civil and mechanical designs for natural gas pipelines, pressure regulating facilities, and distribution systems.
  • Project Management: Build comprehensive lifecycle project execution plans, including milestones, procurement tracking, and scheduling.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Align all site designs with PHMSA, FERC, DOT, and local environmental protection requirements.
  • Safety Integration: Lead active participation in system safety reviews, including HAZOP, HAZID, and Layer of Protection Analysis sessions.
  • Vendor Coordination: Review contractor construction bids, manage third-party Engineering Procurement Construction entities, and supervise field equipment manufacturing.
  • Financial Controls: Formulate detailed cost estimations, evaluate material requirements, and monitor budget expenditures against project milestones.
  • Field Supervision: Conduct field engineering site visits to perform inspections and resolve complex design anomalies.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare data-driven progress updates, engineering calculation summaries, and change orders for executive management.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years working within pipeline operations, utilities, or heavy industrial gas sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer-aided design software and heavy process modeling tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensure: Active Professional Engineer registration or explicit path to licensure.
  • Advanced Training: Certified Associate in Project Management or Project Management Professional credential.
  • Domain Knowledge: Deep familiarity with cryogenic thermodynamics or Liquefied Natural Gas processing infrastructure.
