As a Jr. Estimator, you will review project documents, specifications, and blueprints to identify the glass and glazing scope of work. You will translate this information into accurate cost estimates that support competitive proposals, project sales, and successful project execution.
This role is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in Architecture, Construction Trades, Construction Management, or Sales/Business Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Blueprint review — Analyze architectural drawings and specifications to determine glass and glazing scope.
- Material takeoffs — Quantify materials, hardware, and labor needed for storefront, curtain wall, and glazing systems.
- Cost estimating — Prepare detailed cost estimates for client proposals.
- Bid preparation — Assist in assembling proposals and supporting documentation.
- Submittal preparation — Help prepare submittal packages for approval after project award.
- Project coordination — Support the transition from estimating to fabrication and field installation.
- Software-based takeoffs — Learn and use industry partner software tools under guidance from experienced staff.
Requirements:
- Highly desired an Associate's Degree, but not required.
- Blueprint reading.
- Microsoft Office skills.
- AutoCAD experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Interest in construction materials, building systems, and project workflow.
